Obituary of Eric J. Crouch

Eric J. Crouch, age 79, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Eric suffered from a myriad of health issues and fought them bravely. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Srawley) Crouch. Born in Birmingham, England on March 5, 1945, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Catherine (O'Brien) Crouch.

Eric retired as a vice president with Cadbury Schweppes after 42 years of dedicated service and spent many years overseas. He was instrumental in getting various brands up and running in many countries in the Far East when he and his family were based in Hong Kong. The company's entry into the Vietnamese market after the war was amongst the first and this was due to Eric's efforts. Eric was loved and respected by his co-workers. He was a bright light at Trumbull and brought a wealth of field experience into the Technical Center.

Eric loved the outdoors and was very active, he loved riding his bike, playing golf or tennis, going to the gym or just taking a walk in the sunshine. Even though he had lost his eyesight, he still went out and played golf with a few of his co-workers. With the help of others, they would tee up his ball for him and get him into the proper alignment. He would hit the ball and sometimes his response was "I didn't know that they put trees in the middle of the fairway." His sense of dry humor was legendary. Erics other love was music and some knew him as Mr. Music Man. He had a very catholic taste in music and loved all genres.

We have lost a good husband, father, brother, friend and co-worker. His loss will be felt by everybody that knew him. The world was certainly a better place with him in it.

In addition to his beloved wife Pauline of 53 years, other survivors include his cherished daughter, Elizabeth Crouch and his devoted brothers, Thomas Crouch and his wife Jackie, Steven Crouch and his wife Maryanne and Edward Crouch and his wife Jane. He was especially close to Pauline's family especially her sister Jilly, who considered Eric her fourth brother. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. He was especially adored by Brittany and Brayden Scinto.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
