Obituary of Florence R. Amalfitano

She graduated from Bassick High School in 1946. She worked in several professional jobs over the years, including as an Executive Legal Assistant, and as Secretary to the Chief of Police of the town of Monroe. Most of all, she enjoyed her family, and spending time with them, her relatives and friends! She also played the saxophone, piano, and was a band leader for many years. Florence enjoyed playing scrabble, doing puzzles, reading novels, and watching NY Yankee baseball. She was an avid cook and always had a wonderful offering of delicious home-made foods and desserts for many occasions, celebrations, and family gatherings.

Survivors include two sons, Andrew Amalfitano (Jill) of Erie, CO and Michael Amalfitano (Andrea) of Viera, FL, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew L. Amalfitano, her parents, two sisters Julia and Doris, and her brother Ernest Spano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 505 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
