Obituary of Jack Thomas Cravalho

Jack Thomas Cravalho, age 80, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Friday, May 17, 2024. Jack was predeceased by mother, Annie Cravalho Oliver and son, Bret Cravalho. Jack is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Lynne Cravalho of Bridgeport, daughter Jeannie Wade and her husband Charlie of Monroe, daughter Carrie Ferrara and her husband Anthony of East Haven, granddaughters Nicole, Christina, Krista, Lily, and Brielle, great-grandchildren Tanner, Aubree and Wyatt; siblings, Adeline Wright, Joseph Oliver Jr., Stephen Oliver, Theresa Sean, Gilbert Oliver, Susan Shakoor, Sandra DeGirolomo, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jack was the passionate owner of Top Shelf Tree experts for more than 50 years. One of his fondest memories was working as an arborist alongside his son. He enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife, especially Pompano Beach Florida. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed trips to the casino, and listening to 50’s music. Jack was an amateur food critic who loved trying new restaurants and pairing his meal with a tall glass of scotch, preferably Chivas Regal.

But above all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Jack will be deeply missed by all.

The family would like to thank the staff on the cardiology floor and hospice staff at Saint Vincent’s Hospital for the continued care and support through this time. A special thank you to nurses Julia, Marckesson, Andy, Nichole, and Jennifer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 10:00 am directly in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
