Obituary of Donald S. Rumery

Donald S. Rumery, age 65, of Monroe, beloved husband of Marlene Rock Rumery, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 29, 1958 in Winchester, MA, he was a son of the late Ezra and Elinor Ramsdell Rumery. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Donald graduated Cum Laude, was in the honors program and consistently was on the Dean's List throughout his time as a student. Donald worked in the mutual fund and investment industry for 38 years. He was the Mutual Funds Treasurer and CFO for AMG Funds. A music enthusiast, he played the trumpet, enjoyed playing golf, chess, poker. Don was a true Boston sports fan and cheered for the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics and was also an avid fan of the UCONN men's and women's basketball teams. But above all he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. The unconditional love he gave and the values he taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In addition to his beloved wife, Marlene, who he would have celebrated 34 years of marriage on April 28, 2024, survivors include his two loving daughters, Nicole Wegrzyn and her husband Dave of Oxford, Michelle Rumery and her husband Mike Lewandoski of West Hartford, four cherished grandchildren, Amelia and Jackson Wegrzyn and Lily and Carter Lewandoski, a sister Carol Carr and her husband Bill of Wallingford, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
