Obituary of James Joseph Henrietta

James Joseph Henrietta, age 71, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of Charlene (Gennarini) Henrietta. Born in Long Island City, Queens, N.Y. on June 30, 1952, he was a son of the late James B. and Mary M. (Kollar) Henrietta. Mr. Henrietta obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University. His career as a buyer began at Bridgeport Machines finishing with his last ten years at Sikorsky Aircraft. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed skiing, golf and softball in his younger days. He was instrumental in the establishment of the original Trumbull Shopping Park softball league and built many friendships along the way. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him and his special sense of humor.

In addition to his beloved wife Charlene of nearly 44 years, other survivors include his loving children, Josh Henrietta of FL and Olivia Henrietta of Trumbull, his brother, Rick Henrietta and partner Carol Abrams of Trumbull, his sister-in-law, Connie Priestley of Shelton and brother-in-law, John Gennarini and his wife Mary of Easton, as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention.

The family wishes to thank the Saint Vincent's 9th floor south nursing staff for the initial care and comfort they gave Jim and extend an inexpressible debt of gratitude to Dr. Pierce and his very special nurses and staff of the 8th floor ICU unit for the valiant effort they gave Jim and the kindness and comfort they gave his family throughout.
