Obituary of Antonia F. Leonard

C.E.O. Norwalk Rehabilitation Services Antonia F. Leonard, age 56, of Monroe, died suddenly on Thursday, February 9, 2006 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on June 22, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Anna Bonitatibus Leonard. She was the president and chief executive officer of Norwalk Rehabilitation Services for 21 years. She graduated from Howard University with a degree in Occupational Therapy and also received her MBA from the University of New Haven. Prior to her business career Toni had entered the order of the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirmed. She severed in various roles in Brooklyn N.Y. and Hyattsvelle Maryland. After her return to the business world she continued to support the elderly community serving on several boards of Directors for the Carmelite Sisters and as a frequent guest speaker at many workshops on the care of the elderly. She also served as an Adjunct Facility member at Sacred Heart University and at New York University. Other community activities included the Boards of the Housatonic Council of the Girl Scouts of America and The Sisters of the Nazareth in Monroe, CT.She is survived by her devoted sister, Ann Marie Levis and her husband, John, cherished nephew Jack Levis and niece Ann M. Levis, all of Oxford. She loved and was devoted to many cousins and dear friends. Funeral Information Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour for a Mass of Christian Burial.Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Family and friends may call on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
