Obituary of Jacqueline J. Lavoie

Jacqueline J. (Rich) Lavoie, age 84, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Oakland, CA on March 26, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Clelia (Salvaggi) Rich. Mrs. Lavoie looked forward to spending time with her family and friends and that included playing cards with them. She was talented in the craft of crocheting and those lucky enough to receive the fruits of her labor knew the love that was put into those creations. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She also found great enjoyment dancing, especially line dancing. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her devoted and loving children, Denise M. Lavoie and Jeffrey M. Lavoie, both of Bridgeport, and Allison A. Ross and her husband John of East Haven, her cherished grandson, David A. Ross of East Haven, and special friend, Sue O’Hara of Cromwell, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Joan Bissonette, Marviene Benedetto Johnson and Ruth Nuccitelli and her brothers, Robert and Francis Rich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11:00 am in St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton St., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
