Obituary of John N. Pavia Jr.

John N. Pavia, Jr., age 93, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on December 6, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth Sacher Pavia. A member of the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard, he was the owner and operator Pavia Antenna Service.

John exuded a warmth and kindness to anyone was lucky enough to have known him. He was a standout student at Central High School where he was recognized as a gifted musician. After enlisting in the Army Reserve, he received training as radar technician. John used these skills to establish Pavia Antenna Service, a successful family owned and operated business that he ran from 1957 to 1989. He remained active in the Army Reserve and National Guard where he rose to the rank of Warrant Officer, before retiring after 22 years of service. John was known for his incredible work ethic and affable personality. His greatest pride was his three children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his three loving children, Michele Miele, Lisa Pavia, John Pavia III and his wife Robin Pavia, seven cherished grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael, Gina, John IV, Alexa, Christopher, Tessa, two adored great grandchildren, Vincenzo and Isabella, two brothers, Donald Pavia and Bill Pavia, a sister, Joanne Petro and her husband Steve, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Joseph Miele.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. directly in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will be private at the request of the family. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
