Obituary of Dorothy Rita Amaral

Dorothy Rita (Komorofski) Amaral, age 91, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Mario Amaral. Born in Glen Lyon, PA on November 9, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Levulis) Komorofski. Mrs. Amaral had been employed by Bryant Electric, a division of Westinghouse, as a secretary for many years before her retirement. Her greatest joy was found in the time she was surrounded by her family and friends. She especially enjoyed weekends by the pool with her grandchildren, whom she adored. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorothy is survived by her three loving children, Mark Amaral, Karen Bauco and her husband John and Craig Amaral and his wife Lisa, her cherished grandsons, Joseph and wife Kait and Daniel Bauco, her sisters, Marie Tedesco and Bernie Capozziello and husband Tony, her brother-in-law, Ernest Amaral and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mario, she was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Tina Amaral, her sister, Elaine Davins, her sister-in-law, Evelyn Amaral, and brothers-in-law, John Tedesco and James Davins. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
