Obituary of Elizabeth C. Freddino

Elizabeth C. (Fay) Freddino, age 104, of Fairfield and formerly of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Ludlowe Center, Fairfield. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Freddino, Sr. Born in Bridgeport on December 22, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Alfred C. and Sarah T. (Ellsmore) Fay. Elizabeth had been the office manager for Dr. John Stevens for many years before her retirement and built many friendships along the way. Mrs. Freddino was a woman of great faith and a longtime active parishioner of St. Augustine Church, where she practiced that faith and was honored to be awarded their Volunteer of the Year at a time. Even at 95 years of age she was still serving as a Lecter. She also found great enjoyment on the occasional trip to the casino and looked forward to frequent trips with friends to New York to attend Broadway shows. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving sons, Philip J. Freddino, Jr of Derby and Richard A. Freddino and his wife Charlene of Delray Beach, FL, son-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” Rowe of Milford, her cherished grandchildren, David Rowe, Kristen Rowe Worzel and her husband Scott and Alyssa Freddino, her adored great grandchildren, Connor Rowe, Skylar Rowe, Zachary Philip Worzel and Lauren Elizabeth Worzel, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends, too numerous to mention. In addition to her beloved husband Philip, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Rowe and her brothers, William T., Edward H. and Alfred T. Fay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10:00 am in St. Augustine Cathedral Parish, 399 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Entombment in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford will follow.
