Uncle Joe and Aunt Sandy were Maid of Honor and Best Man at my parents wedding. Richard and Bernice Barbierri. My dad and Uncle Joe worked at Howlands together for many years. Aunt Sandy and my mom were childhood friends in Trumbull. They both were a big part of our lives growing up. I remember their fourth of July parties, the fireworks and the good food. We last saw uncle Joe when he met us at Old Town Restaurant in June to celebrate my Dad's birthday on the 27th with his the day after. What i remember most of that day was his hug. He was just so happy to see my mom and dad. He couldn't stop saying how glad he was to be there.
Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Our deepest sympathy to your family.
Richard and Bernice Barbierri

We were so lucky to have Joe as our neighbor for the past six months. In that short time he touched all of our lives with his quick wit, gentle smile, and of course hugs and kisses. He will be missed but it makes our heart smile to know he is now reunited with his wife in heaven.

Joe hired me at Howlands Department Store's Accounting Department almost 50 years ago. But I have never forgotten him. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Besides being a good man, he was great to work for. Through all these years I have always been thankful for the time I spent with him. My wife never met him but has heard me speak about him many times throughout the years. May he rest in peace. John Vibbert
