Ed and I went to school together from '65-68. We lived about 100 yards away from each other and were constantly in each other's homes. We went to the same school, played on the same little league team and we played baseball constantly in the summer and hockey constantly in the winter! When we caught back up with each other on Facebook about 12 years ago, it was just like old times. We could still crack each other up. He was one of a kind.

Ed was the first to welcome me into Banton Construction. He quickly became a friendly face and mentor. We shared a lot of lunches, and laughed until we were in tears.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed for many years at Banton Construction. He had recently reached out to me and wrote in his message that he hoped my future "is as bright as a Minnesota star." That meant a lot to me, and it exemplifies how caring and genuine Ed was to the people that he cared about. He will be greatly missed, and fondly remembered.
