Obituary of Marcia Gail Buster

Our Beloved Marcia Gail Watkins Buster, departed this life at the age of 84 on Saturday, November 4, 2023 in Powder Springs, Georgia surrounded by her loving family. She was the eldest daughter of her eight siblings born from her parents' union of love, Mr.& Mrs. William Walter (Surverne Ruff) Watkins. "Gail" as she was affectionately known, was active in New Haven and Fairfield counties for more than 60 years. Gail's early life and education took place in the Bridgeport area. In 1976 she received her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from The University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport Connecticut. During her tenure at Bridgeport Hospital, she received numerous awards including the Recognition of Excellence and Medical Staff Recognition Awards. Her natural gift was always serving and caring for people which was exemplified by her decision to accept a position as Nurse consultant with the Bridgeport school system where she mentored many nurses sharing the wisdom and experience that she gained over the years. Her nursing skills carried over to her friends and family as well. She was their nurse, midwife, on call babysitter, friend, critic, and confidant. Her legacy of strength and perseverance will impact her loved ones for generations to come.

Gail leaves to mourn her passing her eldest son Thomas Allen Sandifer III, grandson TaShaun Sandifer, step daughters Belinda Levychin Richard, Cormilla Hendrieth, Clorissti Mitchel Carlos, her sister Ginger Powell Forbes and brother-in-law Wesley Forbes.

She is predeceased by her husband Bobby Buster, her son William "Chip" Johnson, brothers Donald J. Langston and William Watkins Jr., and sisters Billie Jean Rivers, Della Fitzgerald Ford, Surverne Miller, and Sunnye Raye Watkins. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will host a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road in Trumbull Connecticut. Interment will follow in Milford Cemetery, Milford Connecticut.
