Obituary of Maurizio Vaiana

Maurizio "Motto" Vaiana, age 48, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Paula (Fanciulli) Vaiana. Born in Ansonia on May 8, 1975 he was a son of Antonina (Abate) Vaiana of Ansonia and the late Giuseppe Vaiana. Motto worked as a truck driver for Grillo's Organic Services, where he has built many friendships over the years. His greatest enjoyment was spending quality time by the pool or bonfire surrounded by family especially his grandchildren, whom he adored above all else. Motto found joy in music and with his silly demeanor he would attempt to entertain his loved ones with his singing and dancing. He had a listening ear and always knew the right things to say. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather "Nonno", son, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Paula of 26 years and mother Antonina, other survivors include his mother-in-law Rosemary Fanciulli, devoted children, Jona'e Francione, Guiseppe Vaiana (Lindsey), Gianna Vaiana (Zachary) and Alyssa Vaiana, his cherished grandchildren, Gabriella, Brian and Giavanna, his sisters, Ida DiBiaso (Dominic) and Rita Orchano, his brothers, Stefano Vaiana (LuAnne) and Joseph Vaiana (Karen), sister-in-law Barbara Crudup and brother-in-law Paul Fanciulli IV, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Giuseppe Vaiana and father-in-law, Paul Fanciulli III.

Friends may greet the family at a celebration of Maurizio's Life on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, CT.
