Obituary of Anna Uhliar

Anna Klabo Uhliar, age 97, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Milford Hospital. Born in the Ukraine on March 12, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Marko and Mary Klabo.

Anna was a survivor of a World War II labor camp before coming to the United States. She was proud to have retired from General Electric with over 30 years of dedicated service. She was a very independent woman with a big heart and was the matriarch of her family and worked hard to raise her whole family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include a beloved daughter, Mary Dineen, three cherished grandsons, Mark Maietto (Sara), Louis Maietto (Lynn) and Paul A. Uhliar and five adored great grandchildren, Daniel Uhliar and Nicolas, Matthew, Michael & Anna Maietto. She was predeceased by a son, Louis Uhliar, Jr.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
