Obituary of John M. Rodko Sr.

John (Jack) M. Rodko Sr., age 87, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of the late Arlene E. Notaro Rodko for 63 wonderful years before her passing in 2022. Born on July 4, 1936, in Nanticoke, PA, he was the son of the late John and Jennie Splett Rodko. A Bridgeport resident since 1953, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a Spec 4 for two years. He was stationed at Fort Gordon Army Base, Augusta, Georgia. He was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford, where he was employed for over 43 years and worked as a machine shop operator and lead man. Jack was also a member of the Golden Wings Club. Survivors include his beloved daughter, Pamela Lynn Stoll and her husband Michael, his three precious and loved grandchildren, two grandsons David Tyler and Matthew Ryan (Natalia) and his cherished granddaughter Stephanie Lynn, all of Shelton, CT as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, and several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Arlene, he was predeceased by his loving son John M. Rodko Jr., and his brother, Edward Rodko. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
