Obituary of Martha Flathers

Resident of Stratford Martha Lombardi Flathers, age 81, of Stratford, a former employee of General Electric and Fermont, died peacefully in her sleep at her home with her loving family on Friday, June 27, 2008. Born in Bridgeport on May 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Gertrude Scinto Lombardi. Mrs. Flathers enjoyed cooking dining out and most of all spending time with her family. She was an old movie fan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Walter R. Flathers, Sr., a sister, Josephine Moore and two brothers, Gabriel and Louis Lombardi. Survivors include her two loving sons, Walter R. Flathers, Jr. of Naugatuck, George Flathers and his wife Donna of Stratford, nine grandchildren, Walter R. Flathers, III of Shelton, Christopher Flathers and his wife Chrissie of Bridgeport, Tamsyn, Matthew and Diana, Sarah, Steven, Michael, Melissa and Dontrel Flathers all of Stratford, two great grandsons, Anthony and Jason Flathers and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends are invited to meet directly in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2007 for graveside committal services. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
