Obituary of Mary Picarazzi

Mary Cortina Picarazzi, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 2, 2023 after a long illness. Mary was a loving and beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. A lifelong resident of Trumbull, Mary is survived by Domenick Picarazzi, the love of her life and husband of 64 years; son John Picarazzi (Laurie Hubbard); and daughters Anna Marotti (Robert Marotti) and Teresa Picarazzi (Giancarlo Cottignoli). Mary leaves behind six cherished grandchildren, a great grandson, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Frances Cortina McCarthy.

A devout Catholic and eternal optimist, Mary's faith held her up, and she touched the lives of many people with her generous spirit and loving heart. Mary loved to sing, dance, cook, eat, play games, St. Maarten, and Naples, Florida, but most of all she loved her family, and the time spent around her kitchen table with family and friends.

Mary was well known to the residents of Trumbull as the face of Frances Pastry Shop, a highly successful family business that she and Domenick ran together for decades, along with Domenick's brother and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Caroline Picarazzi. She imparted an incomparable work ethic to generations of young people.

Mary found life wondrous and joyful. She loved and gave unconditionally, making everyone who met her feel special and included. We will all miss her greatly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 meeting directly in Christ the King Church, 4700 Madison Ave., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Friday, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
