Obituary of Nancy C. Slady

Nancy C. Slady, age 89, of Easton passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Slady. Born in Bridgeport on March 16, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Eamiello) Cocivi. Early in her career, Nancy enjoyed working at Sikorsky Aircraft until she was married. She later began a long and successful career in the family farming business, where her love for farming was met and satisfied by tending to growing fruits and vegetables. Most recently however she was instrumental in the growing of Christmas trees at Slady’s Tree Farm. Nancy was also a proud member of the Easton Volunteer Fire Department where she has built many friendships and actively participated in their annual events. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Nicholas and Mary, she is also predeceased by her sister, Rosemary Hewig and her husband Fred and her brother, Sylvester Cocivi and his wife Jean. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Aspetuck Cemetery, Easton. Friends may greet the family on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
