Obituary of Marie E. Micholovich

Marie Lesko Micholovich, age 83, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to Kenneth Micholovich. Born in Bridgeport on August 4, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Jane (Torreso) Lesko and was a longtime resident of Shelton.

Marie earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Bridgeport and a master's degree in education from Sacred Heart University. She went on to become an elementary school teacher at Booth Hill School in Shelton and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. She also taught at Blessed Sacrament in Bridgeport and Holy Family in Fairfield. Marie had a passion for teaching and developed many relationships and connected with numerous children over her tenure. She loved music and volunteered countless hours singing in the St. Theresa Choir. Above all her interests and enjoyments, her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Her memory will live on in their hearts. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband, Kenneth, survivors include a son, Jason Micholovich and his wife Elizabeth and a daughter Heather Catalano and her husband Mark, all of Shelton. She also had four cherished grandchildren, Emma Catalano and Laurel, Jayce and Thomas Micholovich as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her five siblings, Madeline, Joseph, Stella, Dolores and Robert.

Friends may greet the family on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke, Monroe.
