Obituary of Licinio Borges Lopes
Licinio Borges Lopes, age 52, of Bridgeport, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Born in Bridgeport on June 25, 1971, he was the cherished son of Maria Borges Lopes of Bridgeport and the late Antonio Salgado Lopes.
Licinio graduated from St. Augustine School and Kolbe Cathedral High School and attended Sacred Heart University. Along the way he made many lifelong friendships. Licinio was a loving and dedicated son; he cared very deeply for his parents and family was most important. He had a good heart, a big smile and a charming personality. Though he had no siblings of his own, he had a close relationship with his cousins, who were his brothers and sisters. Licinio enjoyed family functions and would always make everyone around him smile. He was a member of the Vasco da Gama club where he could be found watching his cherished Dallas Cowboys. Licinio will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his cherished mother Maria, survivors include his Godmother, Maria Elizabeth Borges Carvalho, uncles and aunts, Duarte Borges and his wife Ana, Toninha Borges, Dina Borges, Ondina Do Canto and Alcino Sampaio, his godson, Massimo Carvalho, as well as numerous cousins and many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9 a.m – 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
