Obituary of Lillian C. Ryan

Lillian Csizmar Ryan, age 99, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Ryan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Born in Fairfield on November 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Kortefai Csizmar. Lillian was a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft.

Along with her husband of 50 years, she loved to square dance, travel all over the U.S. and abroad, and they even took day trips driving motorcycles. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and enjoyed walking. She was a person of great faith and could be heard reciting the Rosary aloud before bed.

Lillian loved when her family was all together celebrating birthdays, holidays and summer cook outs.

Lovingly known as "Auntie Lulu", she truly loved all her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Her unconditional love will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her and her memory will forever bring a smile to our faces.

Survivors include her sister, Bertha Coscia, and several cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Olcsvary, and brothers John, Joseph, Stephen and Frank Csizmar.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa's Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
