Obituary of Kenneth G. Olin

Kenneth G. Olin, age 91, of Shelton passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Shelton Lakes, Shelton. He was the beloved husband of Arlene (Cholish) Olin. Born in Olyphant, PA on October 3, 1931 he was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Sibich) Olin, Sr. Mr. Olin had worked as a superintendent in the blade department at Sikorsky Aircraft before his retirement with 30+ years of dedicated service. Ken was a talented baseball player and was selected to play with the minor league affiliate for the Atlanta Braves. His enjoyment for baseball led to his active involvement with the Shelton Little League once he began his family. He also was proud to serve his Shelton community as an Alderman with the 4th ward for 10 years, where he built many friendships. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife Arlene of 57 years, survivors include his devoted son, Keith J. Olin and his wife Amy of Scaggsville, MD and his adored granddaughters, Sienna, Cameron and Cora Olin. Kenneth was predeceased by his son, Kenneth S. Olin and also his brother, Michael Olin.

Friends may greet the family at a celebration of Kenneth’s life to be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ken S. Olin Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund at the University of Lynchburg (www.connect.lynchburg.edu/give - list the fund name in the "other" section under donation type). This fund was established in memory of Kenneth’s son, who graduated from the University of Lynchburg in 1993.  Mr. Olin dedicated 10 years to establishing the fund in his son’s memory by creating the Ken Olin Memorial Golf Tournament held at Brownson Country Club each year.
