Obituary of Maria F. Monginho

Maria Fernandes Monginho, 95, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away on July 6, 2023 in Trumbull, Connecticut. Maria was born on July 19, 1927 in Ponta do Pargo, Madeira, Portugal to the late Antonio Fernandes and Amelia Mendes Gouveia. She immigrated to Brazil in 1946 and then to the United States in 1969 where she worked in the housekeeping department at St. Vincent's Medical Center. She enjoyed fishing, walking, swimming, crocheting and most of all spending time with family. She had an infectious laugh, a smile for everyone, and never left the house unless she was dressed up and had her nails painted.

Survivors include a daughter Fernanda Rodrigues and son-in-law Eugenio Rodrigues of Canada, a sister Felisbela Mendes of Madeira, four grandchildren Christina Constantino (Robert) of Florida, Tricia Monginho of Bridgeport, Hilda (Carlos) of Bridgeport, Fernando Monginho, Jr. of Florida, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Fernandes Monginho and her son, Fernando Monginho

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
