Obituary of Maria Simonetti

Maria Pappalardo Simonetti, age 86, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Agostino Simonetti, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Born on September 10, 1936 in Pontecagnano, Salerno, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Serafina Pappalardo. A seamstress by trade, Maria often made clothing for her children and many other family members to cherish. She cared deeply for her family and would put their needs above her own. She was at her happiest when her children and grandchildren were by her side creating memories to last a lifetime. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in their hearts. In addition to her beloved husband of 65 years, Agostino, survivors include her four loving children, Gennaro Simonetti and his wife Susan, Carmela Simonetti, Paola Simonetti, and Massimo Simonetti and his wife Rachel, five cherished grandchildren, Robert and Joseph Damiano, Kristen Damiano Tracy and Francesca and Agostino Simonetti, two brothers, Enzo and Carmine Pappalardo, a sister Luigia Pappalardo in Mazza, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law Robert R. Damiano. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
