Obituary of Armand J. Cantafio

Armand J. Cantafio, age 87, of Orange and formerly of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Yale New Haven Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Blanche Cantafio. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Bridgeport, he was a son of the late Frank J. and Lucy Riccio Cantafio, and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Armand received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1957 from the University of Bridgeport and founded Northeast Electronics Corp of Milford in 1961 and was still actively presently involved in daily operations with his family.

Armand was very active and volunteered for many civic organizations, most notably he was president and chairman of the CT Burns Care Foundation, past member of the executive board of Quinnipiac School of Law and a member of the Milford Columbus Committee and Chairman of the Town of Orange Economic Development Commission.

In addition to his beloved wife Blanche, other survivors include a son, Timothy Cantafio and his wife Dawn, two daughters, Lori D'Amico and her husband Michael, Karen Feehan and her husband James and their mother, Emily C. Cantafio, step son, Arthur Jennings and his wife Sara, step daughters, Wendy Dulin and her husband Gary, and Sherri Buckley, step son in law, Mark Hoch, a sister, Roseann Luba and her husband Chester, 12 grandchildren, Cayla, Nicholas, Brianna, Armand (AJ), Abigail, Jason, Jenna, Amanda, Gary, Billy, Jake and Ari, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Joseph Cantafio, a sister, Connie Sandor and stepdaughter, Kathy Jennings.

The family would like to thank the orthopedic staff on the Verdi 4th floor at St Raphael Hospital, especially nurse Gary and the 6th floor staff at Yale New Haven Hospital, especially nurse Kate.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in the St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rod, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The CT Burns Care Foundation, 601 Boston Post Road, Suite 2, Milford, CT 06460.
