Obituary of Elaine Elizabeth Edgerton

Elaine Elizabeth Boscaini Edgerton, age 84, a 60 year resident of Monroe and beloved wife of the late George Leonard Edgerton, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Danbury Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on August 13, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Gaetano and Elizabeth Rose Agostini Boscaini.

 

Elaine graduated from Bassick High School in 1956 and the Yale New Haven School of Radiologic Technology in 1958. She was a Pharmacy Technician for over 50 years at Walgreen’s (formerly Ethical Pharmacy).

 

She was a long time St. Jude parishioner where she taught religious education.  Elaine was also a former Girl Scout leader. Along with her husband George, she was co-founder of the Connecticut “G” Scalers Train Club. Elaine and George loved to take long rides throughout New England and to travel to as many states as they could across the U. S.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Edgerton, a sister, Jeanette Coburn, sister-in-law, Dorothy Edgerton, her "sister-in-spirit" and longtime friend Judy Farina, nieces, Linda Gori Mennillo and her husband Nicholas and their daughters, Nicole and Kristen Mennillo, Laura Lee Coburn Swope and her husband Guy and their children, Natalie and Ryan Swope, Angela May Coburn Evagash and her husband Tom and their son, Thomas Jr., nephews, Joseph Gori and his wife Alice Leber and their daughter, Sarah Gori, John Gori and his wife Rose, and their daughter Andrea as well as many nieces and nephews on her husbands side.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased her older sister, Dolores Gori and her husband Secondo, her younger brother, Robert Boscaini and her brother-in-law, Dr. Richard Coburn.

 

A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Tpke., Monroe. There will be no calling hours.
