Obituary of Jadwiga Kaczynska

We regretfully announce the passing of Jadwiga Kaczynska on April 22, 2023.  She was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully in her sleep. Jadwiga was a devout Catholic. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who cared deeply for those around her.

Jadwiga was the oldest child of Anna & Antoni Czajkowski, born in Truskolasy-Olszyna, Poland on December 12, 1936. She married Jozef Kaczynski in 1956 and together they went on to have four children in Lapy, Poland. She and her husband worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for a better life for their children. As part of that effort, Jadwiga and Jozef, then in their 40s, moved their family to Connecticut.

Jadwiga worked for over 23 years at Magnetek Universal Manufacturing in Bridgeport until her retirement at 62.  In her spare time, Jadwiga enjoyed going on cruises, visiting her home country and gardening.

However, Jadwiga’s true gift was her heart and the unconditional and selfless love and support she gave to her family.  She created a warm, kind and loving home. Jadwiga was a passionate chef and she often showed her love through her cooking. Her memorable family gatherings whether for birthdays, holidays or other celebrations will never be forgotten.

Jadwiga was a giver. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, patient, kind and caring.  She lived her life with passion and purpose that stemmed from her Catholic faith.  She enriched and improved the lives of others, provided comfort and solace while asking little in return.  She was known for her honesty, loyalty, compassion and hard work.  Jadwiga was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always put her family first. Her life had great value and every relationship she had whether with her husband, children, grandchildren or great-granddaughter was deep and impactful. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Jadwiga was predeceased by her mother, Anna Kaczynska and her father Antoni Czajkowski, her brother, Tadeusz Czajkowski, her sister, Teresa Ostrowska and her grandson, Tomasz Falkowski and is survived by her beloved husband, Jozef Kaczynski, her four children and their spouses, Maria and Piotr Mol, Danuta and Roman Salek, Dariusz Kaczynski and Danuta Zielinska, Boguslawa and Stephen Foldy, her grandchildren, Emilia Falkowska and her husband Andre Seibel, Daniel Salek, David Kaczynski, Pauline and Tyson Schulz, Natalie Kaczynski and her grand-granddaughter, Noe Seibel.

Her family will receive relatives and friends at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, Tuesday, April 25 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly at St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave, Derby on Wednesday April 26 at 10:30. Entombment in Mount St. Peter Cemetery in Derby will follow the Mass.

Jadwiga will be desperately missed by all those that she left behind. She will always be in our hearts.
