Obituary of Janice L. Bisciglia

Janice L. Bisciglia, 81, of Trumbull passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Michael C. Bisciglia.

Janice was born June 6, 1941, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, daughter of the late Peter and Rose Lippiello Cherrip. She worked as a Secretary for the University of Bridgeport and then People’s Bank for many years until her retirement. Janice was one to care for others while rarely making a fuss for herself. She was an avid fan of tennis, loved watching movies, and spending time with her three grandchildren. She also contributed her love of knitting to the community by donating afghans to the homeless through the Daughters of Charity. She was a faithful member of St. Theresa Church in Trumbull. In years past she was a volunteer with St. Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound in Bridgeport to help support oncology programs. For years, she attended the Novena services devoted to the Immaculate Mary at St. Charles Church in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

In addition to her husband Michael, she is survived by her son, Michael G. Bisciglia, and his wife Marta; her daughter, Stacie Sigona, and her husband John; her grandchildren Hunter, Douglas, and Gabriella; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Bea Fiocca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull, on Wednesday April 12, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janice’s memory to St. Vincent’s Heart Failure Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606, hartfordhealthcare.org/services/heart-vascular.
