Obituary of Nada L. Crnic

Nada Ljudmila Crnic, age 91, of Monroe, CT, passed away in her home of 51 years surrounded by her family and friends, on Thursday, March 30, 2023. She was born in Ljubliana, Slovenia on August 12, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Anton Uhan and Ljudmila Radic (Persin). She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert R. Crnic, her brother, Milan Uhan, and her beloved grandson Robert A. Crnic.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Z. Crnic and Edwin M. Crnic, his wife Rocio along with three grandchildren; Alexa, Benjamin and Samuel Crnic; her niece Lily (Uhan) and numerous cousins in Slovenia and Canada. Nada grew up in Slovenia during World War II, eventually settling in Zagreb, Croatia. Along with her late husband, she emigrated to Munich, Germany in 1955 before emigrating to America in 1962. Nada was blessed with exceptional beauty, intelligence, wisdom and humility. She spoke 4 languages fluently, working fulltime throughout her life in Europe and America while raising her two sons. Within 7 years of arriving in America, she was employed by the Superior Court of Bridgeport as a computer operator until her retirement. Nada was a devoted mother and wife to her two sons and late husband. She enjoyed cooking elaborate meals for family and friends. Nada adored her grandchildren and was devoted to always putting her family's needs ahead of hers. Nada radiated an uncommon innocence and spiritual purity. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed living a simple life with family and friends. She will be missed forever by her devoted son, Robert, who provided her care during her final years. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff of Constellation Hospice for their compassionate care until her passing.

There will be a graveside service at Mt. Grove Cemetery of Easton on Harvester Rd. (off Madison Ave. in Trumbull) on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at 2pm.
