Obituary of Christine Carter

Christine (Ruggiero) Carter, age 72, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Michael Carter, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT.  Born in New York City on January 19, 1951, but, has spent the majority of her life in Bridgeport, CT.  She was a daughter of the late Louis Ruggiero Sr. & Adele Ruggiero in addition to Helen (Urbano) Ruggiero who raised her as her own from the age of 11 after the death of Adele. Christine was a graduate of Bullard Havens School of Nursing and later worked as a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital for many years. Afterwards, she worked In Medical Intake and did administration services.

She is survived by her brother, Dominic Ruggiero and his wife Dawn of Fairfield, her sister, Carol Ruggiero of Bridgeport with whom she resided and sister-in-law, Diana Davis Ruggiero and her daughter, Juliana Rose Ruggiero of Hamden her cherished niece. In addition to her beloved husband Michael of 47 years, she was also predeceased by her loving brother, Louis Ruggiero. She loved our large extended family and was proud to be a part of it. She was always so grateful for how loving and caring they have always been. Chris was our logical sibling and the sister who had good sense. She was kind to all people and always had a smile for everyone regardless of the many challenges she has had throughout her life. In addition, we would like to thank her long-time friends for always being a constant in her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
