Richard E. Greene, age 78, of Shelton, beloved husband of Patricia Benedetto Greene, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, at his home after a long illness surrounded by his loving family; it is truly this world's loss, but Heaven's gain. Born in Bridgeport on March 06, 1944, son of the late Harry. E. Greene and Mary S. Nemergut Greene, Richard was a long time Shelton resident and graduated Bullard-Havens Technical High School and earned his Electronic Technician diploma from the CT School of Electronics; he also attended the Bridgeport Engineering Institute. Richard worked as an engineer with the phone company for thirty five years. An avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing, boating, hunting and softball, he and Patricia travelled worldwide including Spain, Germany, Italy, the Greek isles, Bora Bora, Hawaii, Alaska, the U.S. National Parks and many Caribbean islands. In addition to his beloved wife Patricia, Richard is survived by his devoted children, sons Atty. Richard H. Greene, David L. Greene and his "special angel" daughter RN Lauren Pascarelli of Shelton. He is also survived by son-in-law Kenneth Pascarelli and his beloved grandchildren, Brett Pascarelli, Tia Pascarelli and Mila Pascarelli of Shelton, his brother Ret. Sgt Harry G. Greene/Cindy Wagner of Purlear NC, his sister Judith Garner of North Haven, sister-in-law Lorraine Benedetto of Shelton, several nieces and nephew. Best said by his special angel;

     "Farewell my sweetest daddy, we all love you more than words can say, forever and always. You were the best son, brother, father,  husband and greatest grandfather and a best friend to so many, loved by all. No words can express our pain despair and loss. Be at peace  dearest father, go and enjoy fishing with your father Cid, Bobby M. and the rest in Heaven."
