Obituary of Dennis M. Festa

Dennis M. Festa, age 68, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Marcella (Garwacki) Festa. Born in Bridgeport on July 20, 1954, he was the son of the late Mario and Vivian (Colombo) Festa and a longtime resident of Stratford.

Dennis spent the majority of his career as a tax analyst at Pitney Bowes, GE Capital in Chicago, IL and most recently the City of Norwalk. An all sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching and playing golf as well as attending and watching games of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.

Dennis had a deep passion for photography, doing it mostly for pleasure and community events. His talent captured all of his life's greatest moments with those that he loved including memorable family vacations, attending concerts, enjoying fine dining from his favorite restaurants in Chicago and Connecticut as well as spending time relaxing in nature taking in the view of birds and flowers. Dennis was incredibly proud of his two children where he actively supported their activities including Boy Scouts, softball and the Bunnell High School Marching Band and Colorguard.

Dennis had a big heart and was generous to everyone, helping anyone in need. He recently joined the Knights of Columbus to give back to others. Above everything, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends during dinners, the holidays, and watching a sporting event. He was a loving husband, father and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Marcie, survivors include two loving children, Christina (Festa) Held and her husband Kevin and Nicholas Festa and his wife Colleen and a sister, Elisa Butler and her husband Edward as well as many brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. All are invited to attend the Funeral Mass directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
