Music is one of life's greatest gift. To those who educate music, are those who gift us music with love. Mr.Bonazzo dedicated his life to this pursuit, and I, among many more, we so fortunate to receive the gift of music from him. Mr. Bonazzo introduced me to an entire new genre that I thought to be out of reach; he gave us the opportunity to learn and hone our craft with patience, support, and a an endearing smile with each students attempt and success. Bonazzo truly was a voice of encouragement, reminding us ANY song was possible with practice. A quote he had written on his white board atested to this saying:
"Practicing is a refinement of small abilities, improvisation is application of effortless mastery of the instrument"
A testament to his encouragement to ourbstuden
A wise man once told me "To be a teacher is one of life's greatest priviledge". It is only now, I realize that being a student of Mr. Bonazzo was one of life's greatest honor.

In my earliest memory of Mr. B’s classroom, we were playing a blues tune. It was my first day of class and I was so nervous. Then my worst nightmare: Mr. B pointed at me and gleefully shouted “Solo!” I had never improvised a guitar solo in my life. I stumbled my way through with the help of my peers and the rest is history. After devoting years of my life to the study of improvisation, I look back on this moment and recognize the profound effect Mr.B had on me - he had this effect on all of us. His boundless encouragement left an indelible mark on my development as a professional musician and teaching artist. I will always hold dear my memories of his patience, humor, and unwavering love of a grooving rhythm section. Thanks for having me on your bandstand, Mr. B. Until next time…

This man is one of the reasons I am a music teacher today. He truly shined a light in the classroom and created such a safe and positive community. I am so lucky to have been a student of his 2013-2016. He gave me the courage to be confident when singing, a gift I carry with me to this day. I will never forget his kindness and patience. A true legend! Miss you Mr. B ❤️

Sandy and I were “die hard groupies” following the band “Company” around Fairfield County. Bobby played keyboard with this group for a long time, and we followed them everywhere! Sometimes their ladies would come and join us, but often it was just the two of us. I have attached a Picture that was taken at the Cordon Bleu in Milford one Halloween. We always had so much fun.
Rest in peace, Bobby I am sure that heaven will be rocking with your music. Oh how they’ll love it.
Love,
Barbara Pokrin

RIP Mr B. I can’t even count how many great memories I have from my 4 years in your classroom. RCA was the best part of my high school experience because of how much love and attention you gave me from the start. You saw the potential in me to be a bass player and encouraged me to dedicate myself to the instrument fully and I’m incredibly grateful you did. I’ve never given it up and am a good musician because you taught me theory and what it means to be musician; not just a player. Your laugh and sense of humor made it easy for everyone to be themselves and have fun playing tunes ranging from polkas to heavy metal. You’ve left an incredible mark on me as a musician and a person and will think of you every time I hear a Chicago, Ray Charles or Wolfmother song.
Condolences to your family and students, who, let’s face it, are your family too.
Lots of love
