Obituary of Anne Dougherty

Anne Mandrin Dougherty, age 89 of Annapolis, MD passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023 at Middlebrook Farms in Trumbull, CT with her loving family by her side. Born in Warren, PA on July 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John and Arloine (Felker) Mandrin and was a longtime resident of Maryland before moving to Trumbull, CT. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph in 1988.

Anne was a trailblazer. During an era when young women were expected to leave high school and find a husband, she bucked the system and set out to see the world. She was a flight attendant in Michigan and San Francisco, then moved to Tampa, Fl to work at Cape Canaveral for NASA. Following those experiences, Anne moved out to California where she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Joe, at the ripe old age of 33. She lived her life always up for adventure. She loved sports (especially watching her family play), traveling, games, and all things Notre Dame. Above all, she loved being with her family.

Survivors include a loving son, Chris Dougherty and his wife Colleen of Easton, CT, a brother, Jim Mandrin and his wife Katherine of Annapolis, MD and three cherished grandchildren, Bridget Dougherty and her fiancé Adam Philipps, Joey Dougherty and Niamh Dougherty as well as two nephews, James Mandrin, Christopher Mandrin and his wife Ali and two nieces, Caitlin Bassani-Mandrin and her wife Courtney and Kelsey Mandrin. She was also predeceased by her niece Anne (Mandrin) Billing. Along with her immediate family, there are many others who she counted as her own and showered with love.

The family requests that memorial donations and donations in lieu of flowers be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122 (please note the name of the loved one on the memo line) or online at https://www.hospicechesapeake.org/giving/donate-now/

A Celebration of Anne's Life will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements are in care of the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT.
