Obituary of Amelia Covino

Amelia "Molly" Cavuoto Covino, age 91, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side. Molly was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Covino. Born in Bridgeport on November 2, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Lucille (Damato) Cavuoto and was a longtime resident of Monroe and Trumbull where she raised her family.

While living in Stratford, Molly was an active parishioner of St. Mark Church and a member of the Baldwin Center where she enjoyed yoga classes and many other activities. Family was her priority; she loved cooking and being surrounded by family especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her four loving children, Annmarie Shefchick of Derby, Gail Stanger of Stratford, Michele Petrucciano and her husband Ernest of Shelton and Michael Covino, Jr and his wife Stephanie of Easton, a brother, Fred Cavuoto, a sister, Lucille DeLuca and her husband Tom, nine beloved grandchildren, James Fedeli and his wife Bobbi, Nicholas Fedeli, Jerome Mitchell and his wife Karla, Danielle Bardinelli, David Stanger, Briana Petrucciano, Mickey Covino, Jesse Covino and Vince Covino and 19 cherished great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, AnnaMae Rossomando and Jeanette Dunning and her brother Alfred Cavuoto, Jr.

All are invited to meet directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
