Obituary of Nathan Lee Haynes
Nathan Lee Haynes, of Naugatuck passed away peacefully at Complete Care at Glendale surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mireille Ulysse-Haynes. Born in Georgetown, SC, he was a son of the late Samuel A. Haynes and Lillie F. Sarvis Haynes in Georgetown S.C.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Flora Haynes, Samuel Haynes Jr., Christine DeKind, Darlene S. Polite and Jawana F. Cunningham.
Nathan was educated in the Georgetown County, SC school system and graduate from Choppee High School in 1972. He went to college thereafter. Nathan had worked as a police officer for the City of New Haven with many years of dedicated service before his retirement. Nathan Started his own Limousine company (Excellent Limousine Inc.) was devoted to his customers. He was a true outdoorsman and loved spending time tending to his garden, working in the yard or cooking out and grilling. He was quite gifted and talented with his hands and could fix nearly anything. He enjoyed music and his flair for fashion was evident in always being sharply dressed. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his family. A loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife of nearly 16 years, survivors include his loving daughter, Bianca Haynes, his brothers, Albennie Haynes of New York and Dennis (Doris) Haynes of Charlotte, his sister, Lela Perry of Hartford, his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara Haynes of Georgetown, SC, Isaac Cunningham, Jr. of Lake Park, NC, Paulette Lacroix and her husband Alin From Miramar, FL, Marlene Ulysse-Telfort from Shelton, CT, Soniard (Fredo) Catilus from Miami, FL, Pierre Richard Ulysse (Ketelie Mesidor) from Naugatuck, CT, Mimose Ulysse-Laurenard (Orele) from Shelton, CT and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1255 East Main Street, Bridgeport. Entombment will follow in the Pilgrimage Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family on Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
