Later, her family moved to Bridgeport, CT, and then to Lordship, CT. She attended Stratford High School where she proudly played the cornet with the school marching band.

Claire is survived by three siblings: Shirley Walter, Linda Pauling and John Marks. Claire was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Richard Emil Eddinger. Together, they restored their historic home in Monroe where they lived for 40 years.

She is survived by their children: Margaret Haase, Richard M. Eddinger, Beth Wesley, Lauren Eddinger-Danner, Thomas Eddinger, Lois Krahn, and Kathryn Bomann. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Claire was a longtime, faithful member at Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgeport, CT, during her earlier years and then at Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church in Trumbull, where she served as the church organist for more than 20 years. She appreciated participating frequently in worship and Bible study.

Claire loved her family and enjoyed raising her children. In the process, she also developed an impressive array of homemaking skills. She enjoyed creating flower gardens, canning vegetables, sewing clothes, quilting, braiding rugs, and caning and refinishing furniture. Claire and Richard built two summer cottages on Cape Cod, a source of endless enjoyment for them and their family.

All are invited to join Claire's family at her Christian funeral on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10 am at Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2795 Nichols Ave, Trumbull, CT, 06611.
