Obituary of Maria Fatima Pereira

Maria Fatima Martins Pereira, age 68, of Trumbull, Beloved wife of Nuno Pereira Sr., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 10, 1954 in Rua das Longras,Chaves Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Joaquim Alves Martins and Piedade Esteves Martins. Maria immigrated to the United States in 1960 settling in Bridgeport, where she was a longtime resident before moving to Trumbull.

Maria was a retired employee of the former Waldbaum's Grocery Store in Bridgeport. She retired as a head cashier with over 20 years of dedicated service. In her recent years, she took great pride and joy working as a nanny. She was a very outgoing and loving person who cared about everyone and would help anyone in their time of need.

She was a dedicated wife and mother and put the love and needs of her family before her own. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her beloved husband of 50 years Nuno, survivors include her two cherished sons, Nuno Pereira Jr. and Daniel Pereira, siblings, Maria Lucilia Gomes, Lino Martins and wife Roseanne, Tony Martins, Louisa Mobilio, and Ann Soto and husband John, brother-in-law Gabriel Pereira, as well as several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Road, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
