Obituary of Elizabeth A. Vida

Elizabeth A. (Preg) Vida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at her home in Trumbull CT, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80.

Born in Bridgeport on July 14, 1942, to Arnold and Elizabeth (Kovacs) Preg, she grew up in Stratford, CT, graduating Stratford High School in 1960. Shortly after graduating, she met and married her husband, Vincent Vida.  

Elizabeth, or Betty Ann as she was known, who in addition to being a dedicated wife, was a loving mother and an amazing grandmother who was deeply involved with her daughters and grandchildren. She was a former PTA President, as well as a Brownie Troop and Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, and sitting outside on the porch and keeping up with her neighbors as well as being active in her church.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Judy Vida and her husband Michael Oliveto of Wilton, her cherished grandchildren, Andrew Capra and his wife Lila, Alexa Laiso and her husband James, Evan Vida, Allison Capra, Riley Burke and Carson Burke, and her son-in-law, Anthony Capra.

In addition to her husband Vincent, she is predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth Vida Capra and her brother, Joseph Preg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Friday, December 2nd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alliance in Limiting Strays (TAILSct.org).
