Obituary of Philip A. Segneri Jr.

Philip A. Segneri, Jr., age 81, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of the late Maryalice Snyder Segneri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Northbridge Healthcare. Born in Bridgeport on September 1, 1942, he was a son of the late Philip A. Segneri, Sr. and Anne Riola Segneri and was a longtime resident of Fairfield.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, Phil was a graduate of central High School, class of 1959. During his time at Central, Phil excelled in sports earning him a scholarship for football. As sports turned into a passion for learning, Phil earned a bachelor's and master's in business from Sacred Heart University. Always the-ever entrepreneur Phil purchased and owned many businesses over his working career. The most successful and notable business was La Normandie restaurant in Westport, where Phil turned his passion for food and service into a four-star French restaurant, notably, one of 72. Local movie stars frequented La Normandie, serving the likes of Paul Newman and Neil Sedaka. After retiring from the restaurant business, Phil owned Exeter Tool in Bridgeport, manufacturing tools and dies for business local and national. In, 1989, he purchased Norfield Electronics, transforming the assembly line style firm to a design house, working with companies like Pepsi and Levi Strauss helping create efficient and automated production lines and manufacturing. Later in life, he dedicated his time to part time consulting, managing entities such as condominiums and large-scale housing, to his favorite job, consulting for The New York Cheese Cake Company. Phil enjoyed spending time with his eight grandchildren and all the new family relationships that were born while maintaining his two favorite hobbies of HAM radio and driving and working on classic cars. He also cherished time spent with his life-long friends Jerry, Jack, Joe, Richie and, Charlie. Phil had the gift of gab, a quality that always made for the life of the party.

Survivors include two daughters, Christine Hussey and Kimberly Haydostian and sons, Philip D. Segneri and his wife Belinda, Richard M. Segneri and his wife Bree and Eran Troy Danner, a sister, Theresa Buckingham and 8 grandchildren, Ashley Haydostian and Anna Haydostian, Martin Francis Hussey, Reed and Wesley Segneri, Carmela and Philip Michael Segneri and Eran T. Danner Jr., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Louis Segneri and a sister, Victoria Leonard.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, November 22nd from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
