Dorothy D’Amato Garamella, age 86, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Roland (Bob) Garamella, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Sunday, November 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bridgeport on November 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Carmella (Ferrara) D’Amato.

A longtime Bridgeport resident, Dorothy graduated from Warren Harding High School. She had worked at Tilo Roofing in Stratford for a number of years and retired from Eastern Bag and Paper Co. where she was the Collections Manager.

She was active in North End Little League and was the PTA President at St. Ambrose School in Bridgeport. Dorothy was an avid UCONN Women’s basketball fan and loved to dance and party with her girls.

She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. The unconditional love she gave and the values she taught will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Dorothy will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her loving children, Dina M. Garamella of Milford and her partner Deanna Beeby, Christopher Garamella of Orange and his partner, Michael Sodins, and Lynn DiCocco and her husband Marco of Shelton, a cherished granddaughter, Gianna Marie Loughman as well as multiple loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Alfred D’Amato, Mario (Tommy) D’Amato, Angelina McSweeney, Rita Romano Coppola and Antoinette Pisacane.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Branford and Pam Gau of Northeast Medical Group for the loving care they provided.
