Obituary of Anthony G. Ferrigno

Anthony G. Ferrigno, age 94, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Marden) Ferrigno.

Born in Bridgeport on November 11, 1927, he was a son of the late Emanuele and Angelina (Sabatelli) Ferrigno and was a resident of Trumbull for over 58 years before moving to Shelton. After high school Anthony went to work at Chance Vought to help the war effort during World War II. In 1960 he started Continental Fuel and was the owner and operator until his retirement in 1989. He was an avid sailor and seaman and sailed countless times with family and friends and was a life member of the East End Yacht Club.

Survivors include his four children, Carl Ferrigno of West Haven, Eric Ferrigno and his wife Irene of Shelton, Anthony Ferrigno and his wife Virginia of Springhill, FL and Louise Ferrigno and her husband James Hock of Gaffney, SC, a brother, Frank Ferrigno and his wife Marie and a sister, Martha Lown and 9 grandchildren, Coleen Ferrigno Oaks, David, Nicholas & Jonathan Ferrigno, Jennifer DeCoteau, Linda Ferrigno Lopez (Angel), Christine Schalich (Roger), Samuel & Benjamin Schwartz and 7 great grandchildren, Noah, Landon, Riley, Harper, Savanah, Michael & Silas as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks and love to his caregiver Jacqueline Neely Moore for all of the loving care and compassion she gave to Anthony, she is truly a gift from God.

All are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Margaret Mary Church, 50 Donovan Lane, Shelton. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet the family on Monday, November 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
