Obituary of Florence A. Pagnozzi

Florence A. (DeFeo) Pagnozzi, age 97, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late August Pagnozzi. Born Rafaella Astasia DeFeo in Bridgeport on April 24, 1925 to the late Luigi and Sabata (DeMaio) DeFeo, her name was later Americanized to Florence. During her incredible lifespan of 97 years, she witnessed many life changes. Throughout her years, her priority was always her family. She was the family caregiver, and loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She enjoyed cooking and loved nothing better than to create a fabulous feast for her family on all occasions, but, especially on the holidays. Her memory will live on in all the traditions she passed on to her family.

Survivors include three loving children, Judith Pepe of Milford, Gary Pagnozzi and his wife Carole of Oxford and Valerie Gilberti and her husband Tom of Milford, her cherished grandchildren, Deneen Prushinski and her husband John of TN, Kimberly Novotny and her husband Sam of NH, Dana Magri and her companion John of New Milford and April Stowers and her husband Robert of NH, six adored great grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Nicholas, Taylor, Ian and Austin, her sister-in-law, Patricia DeFeo of Milford and her godson and nephew, Louis DeFeo, as well as three great great grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband August, she was also predeceased by her son-in-law, James Pepe and her brothers, Valentino and Anthony DeFeo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
