Obituary of Rose T. Catena

Rose T. “Rosie” (Lembo) Catena, age 99, a longtime resident of Norwalk passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent J. Catena. Born in Bronx, NY on October 2, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Anna (Pisano) Lembo. Rosie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend of many. Her life revolved around her husband and family, whom she adored and put before all else. She was happiest when she was surrounded by them and made it her life’s work to care for them and help in any way possible. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her loving children, Ann Marie Darmos of Shelton and James Catena of Derby, her cherished grandchildren, Amy Lynn Allegro and her husband Chris, Cory Ann Cody and her husband Mark and Jimmy Catena, her adored great grandchildren, Sophia and Owen Allegro and Andrew and Mia Cody, her brother, Anthony Lembo and his wife Genevieve, her sister, Anna Freyer, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Vincent, she was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Frank Darmos, her daughter-in-law, Janet Catena and sisters, Carmella Foster and Lucille Layman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton. Interment will follow in Assumption Greens Farm Cemetery, Westport. Arrangements have been entrusted to Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
