Obituary of Ralph M. Branca

Ralph M. Branca, age 87, of Shelton, beloved husband of Ida Bernabei Branca, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Born in Mount Vernon, NY on July 1, 1935, he was a son of the late Frank and Emma Rogers Branca.

Mr. Branca graduated from Harvard Business School earning his PhD. He worked throughout his career at IBM, GE, USM, Emhart/ Black and Decker, retiring at the age of 54 as a Corporate Vice President for Acquisitions and Mergers at Emhart.

He enjoyed golf playing an average of 5 days a week, fishing, reading, finances and above all else his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity and as the world's best story teller.

In addition to Ida, his loving wife of 69 years, survivors include his children, Anthony Branca and his wife Elaine of Shelton, Ralph Branca and his wife Susan of Rhode Island, Emma Branca of Shelton, Christopher Branca and his wife Kathy of Palm Beach, FL and Jeffrey Branca and his wife Marcie of Shelton, grandchildren, Lindsey, Jennie, Katie, Laura, John, Anthony, J.J., Christopher, James, Taylor, Gabriella and Angelina, 14 great grandchildren, two special sisters-in-law, Laura and Sandi and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Frank Branca and his grandson, Nicholas Branca .

A Mass of Christian Burial meeting directly at church will be celebrated on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours.
