Lorenzo Corleone (Lawrence "Larry" Porto), went to Heaven on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Newport, VT. Born on March 15, 1943, he was the third son of Emilio W. and Victoria Zayoc Porto. Growing up in Bridgeport, he attended Bullard Havens High School and joined the United States Army, being Honorably Discharged in 1964. While raising a family, he worked at Raybestos and the United States Postal Service. Larry decided to join the Bridgeport Police Academy and became an officer in 1971, which was a source of great pride to him. After retirement, Larry worked for the Connecticut State Department of Transportation, as it was in his nature to work hard for his family and community. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, and fishing. Larry also loved music and learned to play the guitar. He had a beautiful smile and loved to make people laugh. He adored spending time with his precious cats Angel and Chewee.

Survivors include his beloved children, Cheryl Porto Halchak and her husband Daniel, Jeffrey L. Porto and his wife Lisa, and Victoria Porto. He also leaves his three cherished grandchildren, Emily Dziloski (Arben), Katherine Rose (Nathaniel), and Daniel G. Halchak; three adored great-grandchildren, Aliyah and Sianna Dziloski and Asher Rose; two brothers, Carmen M. Porto Sr. and William E. Porto; a sister, Barbara Ann Thomas, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Rosemarie Botsko. He also leaves behind special friends Diane and Clement Landry, their daughter Faith, and Kelley Brousseau of Vermont.

Friends may greet the family on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 9, at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford.
