Obituary of Clara R. LaConte

Loving Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother Clara LaRocco LaConte age 98, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Angelo LaConte, died peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Minturno, Italy on March 5, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Maria Tartaglia LaRocco. Along with her late husband they operated Contys at Seaside Park for 68 years and the former Contys Ice Cream Store on Boston Ave. in Bridgeport. She was also formerly employed by the General Electric Co. Clara loved to sew, cook, garden and enjoyed a long walk, but most of all she enjoyed her time spent with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will always be remembered for the love and care she gave to her family. Clara was loved by all and will be deeply missed. In addition to her husband Angelo she was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Samuel LaRocco and three sisters, Nancy Mongillo, Mary Palumbo and Antoinette Varvella. Survivors include her devoted son, Lawrence J. LaConte Sr. and his wife Barbara Szilagyi LaConte of Trumbull, four cherished grandchildren, Lisa LaConte Fronsaglia and her husband Benigno, Lori LaConte, Leann LaConte and her companion Richard Rua and Lawrence J. LaConte Jr. and his fiance Megan Carroll, five loving great grandchildren, Angelo, Gabriela, Alexis, Natalia and Alexa, a sister-in-law Rose Zucker of Bridgeport as well as several nieces and nephews. The LaConte family would like to express their gratitude to Oncology Associates of Bridgeport, especially Dr. Harrold, Bridgeport Hospital 7th Floor Oncology and the North and South Wings of The Carolton of Fairfield. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday July 13, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
