Obituary of Virginia E. Marcinowski

Virginia Eileen Silos Marcinowski, 77 of Trumbull died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on August 07, 2022.

She was a New Year's baby in 1945 born in Bridgeport, CT. to her parents John and Jean (Leslie) Silos. The family lived in Fairfield, CT where her grandparents Harry and  Despina Silos owned the Idle Hour Bath Houses which is now located next to the Jackie Durrell Pavilion on Fairfield Beach Rd. Virginia worked there as a teenager. She was a graduate of Andrew Ward High School. While raising 4 children occupied a great deal of her time, Virginia worked at Fairfield Country Day School for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Trumbull Senior Center and volunteered before COVID came along. She loved being outside where she enjoyed gardening, watching wildlife and her grandchildren play. Her happiest moments came from spending time with her family, especially her seven grandchildren. They will always remember all the delicious baked treats she made over the years.

Virginia’s grandchildren, Andrea Raynor and her husband Alan Wong of New Britain, Christina Raynor and her fiancé Steven Nagy of Beacon Falls, Katie Raynor, Aidan, Sean & Caitlin Zacchia of Trumbull, and Brandon Raynor of Fairfield, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Other survivors include Virginia’s four loving children, Jerry Raynor and his wife Elina of Norwalk. Richard Raynor and wife Kimberly of Trumbull, Robert Raynor and his wife Jessica of Fairfield, and Michelle Zacchia of Trumbull. Two loving sisters, Patricia Sniffen and her husband Elmer of Sandy Hook and Elaine DelVento and her husband Russell of Easton. She was predeceased by brothers John

Nick, Paul Silos and sister June Sokec.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will take place Friday, August 26th, 2022 at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull, from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
