Obituary of Margaret Mary Fernandez

Margaret "Peggy" Mary Carrafiello Fernandez, age 79, of Henderson, NV passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at St. Rose Hospital in Henderson, NV. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Emanuel Fernandez. Born in Bridgeport on February 28, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Michelangelo "Charles" Carrafiello and Lucy Rich Carrafiello and was a longtime resident of Trumbull before moving to Nevada.

Peggy was a manager at Peoples Bank for many years before her retirement where she was instrumental in the evolution of electronic banking. She was an active parishioner of Christ the King Church and served as a religious education teacher for many years. While living in Nevada she was involved in many women's organizations. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband Anthony of 57 years, survivors include a loving daughter, Raelinda Palo and her husband Andrew of Trumbull, a brother, Michael Carrafiello of Beacon Falls, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Carrano and her husband Thomas of Trumbull, and two cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Alexa as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Sally Caselli and her husband Joseph and a sister-in-law, Arlene Carrafiello.

Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. At the family's request, please wear a face mask for church and cemetery services. There will be no calling hours. The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull has been entrusted with arrangements.
